Wax sits on the paint and washes off within a couple of months. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to your clear coat and lasts one to five years depending on the tier you pick. You still wash the car — coated paint just cleans up faster and stays clean longer.
If you trade cars every two or three years or just want protection through the lease, the 1-Year is plenty. Daily drivers staying in the family go with the 3-Year. The 5-Year makes sense for a garage-kept weekend car or a new purchase you plan to keep.
It adds a thin layer of protection against fine scratches and makes stuff like sap and tar easier to remove, but it's not a force field. Highway rock chips still happen. For that, a paint protection film (PPF) is the right tool.
Wash every couple of weeks with a pH-neutral soap and skip the drive-through brushes. We'll leave you with a short list of products and habits that will keep the coating performing the full length of its warranty.
